Professional specialty
The 20 credits of the internship plus the TFM are equivalent to a number of hours that oscillates between 450 and 500 hours. This period integrates the hours of preparation of the activities, the development of the intervention practices, and the preparation of the Final Project, consisting of a psychosocial intervention project, and participation in reinforcement training workshops in the project that the student is carrying out.
External internships consist of a 200-hour stay in an entity or service, publicly or privately owned, in which the student learns directly about the current and daily activity of psychosocial intervention and has the opportunity to develop specific techniques and knowledge of the center.
The university, in order to guarantee a real work context, signs Practicum agreements with collaborating centers that make their facilities and professionals available to the university to collaborate in the training of students. Specifically, the collaborating centers undertake to offer a certain number of internship positions and to appoint a psychologist, who will act as the student's tutor for the duration of their training period at the center.
The master's degree currently has internship places in the programs, services and areas that it offers in its contents, both in private and public entities and in more established areas and other more innovative ones.
The objective of this stay is the realization of directed practices that allow achieving specific capacities and abilities of the tasks and functions of the entities and services involved. Enrollment in this module will require the commitment to complete the minimum dedication required by each associated entity.
Research Specialty
The 20 credits of the internship plus the TFM are equivalent to a number of hours that oscillates between 450 and 500 hours. This period integrates the hours of preparation of the activities, the development of research practices and the preparation of a Final Project, consisting of the preparation of a psychosocial research project and participation in training workshops to reinforce the research activity that the student is carrying out.
The MIPS master's degree offers internship positions in research groups and lines linked to the participating Universities and in some applied research entities. The practice of this module will consist of an internship stay (200 hours) in a research group or line where the student participates and knows first-hand the daily professional research activity in order to develop specific knowledge and techniques of the line. These lines of research continue in the doctoral programs of the participating Universities.
The Final Research Master's Project carried out by the student is usually within the framework of the line of research where she has carried out the internship. The academic tutoring of the research practicum is doctoral and linked to one of the universities that participate in the master's degree.
Procedure for assigning practices and TFM
• At the end of December, there is an information session on practicum and TFM.
• At the end of March, master’s board publish on the virtual campus a proposal for centers and thematic areas for the following academic year, in addition to providing a pre-registration from prioritizing areas and centers.
• During April and May, master’s board manage the agreements with the centers. In this period, some centers can still be incorporated, according to the direction of the master's degree.
• At the end of May, master’s board publish the allocation of students to the centers and tutors.
• During June, students and tutor teachers make the first contacts with the centers to start their internships the following academic year.
All the information about centers, pre-registration procedures, allocation of centers and the respective communication channels are carried out through the virtual campus.
