Faculty
The Faculty of Psychology was established as such in 1983. Members of the teaching and research staff and of the administrative and service staff strive to offer a wide and appropriate training to our students, both at undergraduate and graduate levels, with special attention to the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching and the infrastructure for services and support for teaching activities (computer rooms, laboratories, media, tutoring, practical training at the Faculty and other institutions), and the adaptation of our programmes to the parametres set by the European Higher Education Area.
The Faculty of Psychology offers a wide range of courses of study, including a bachelor's degree (accredited with excellence), six master's degrees (five of which accredited with excellence) and five doctoral programmes. Besides, the offering of a wide range of UB-specific master's degrees and postgraduates courses is well established.
The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Barcelona is among the 150 top faculties in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings of 2017. In 2016, the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Barcelona received a quality award from the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU).
Our research contributes to solving problems relating to education (attention and behaviour disorders, exam anxiety, lecturer-student interaction, dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.), society (violence, road safety, marketing, environmental management, communication in organisations, etc.) and health (psychological disorders, chronic pain, ageing, etc.), and to deepening knowledge of the biological, psychological and social principles of human behaviour.
