Nine UB researchers, awarded in ICREA Academia 2019
The ICREA Academia 2019 program awarded the scientific career of nine researchers of the University of Barcelona within the framework of an edition that honors the research of thirty experts in Catalonia. The awardees of ICREA Academia receive a subsidy to do research for a period of five years.
The ICREA Academia program was launched in 2008 with the aim to promote and award the excellence of research carried out by the teaching staff of the public universities in Catalonia. Therefore, the program contributes to boos the research carried out by university teaching staff under an active and expanding phase of their research career.
The UB researchers who were awarded are the following:
David Bartres, professor at the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science and member of the Institute of Neurosciences of the UB (UBNeuro).
Jaume Casademunt, professor at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics of the Faculty of Physics and member of the Institute of Complex Systems of the UB (UBICS).
Antonella Consiglio, tenure track-2 lecturer at the Department of Pathology and Experimental Therapeutics of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and member of the Institute of Biomedicine of the UB (IBUB) and IDIBELL.
Cristina Linares, professor at the Department of Evolutionary Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Biology and member of the Biodiversity Research Institute (IRBio) of the UB.
Jordi Muñoz, tenure track-2 lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Constitutional Law and Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Law.
Lothar Schulte, professor at the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Geography and History and member of the Water Research Institute (IdRA) of the UB.
Antoni Torres, professor at the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and member of Hospital Clínic – IDIBAPS.
Francesc Villarroya, professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine of the Faculty of Biology and member of the Institute of Biomedicine of the UB (IBUB).
Antonio Zorzano, professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine of the Faculty of Biology and member of the Institute for Biomedical Research (IRB Barcelona).
