Title application
Students who have passed all of the credits that integrate the degree of your university master's degree course, as well as the itinerary corresponding to the specialisation you have completed, will have to apply for the issuing of the degree following the following procedure:
Application for and issuing of a Master's degree certificate (in English)
First of all, you must consult your file and confirm that you have passed all the subjects that make up the curriculum and itinerary that you have completed. This query can be made through the file self-consultation.
Once you have done the checking of your file, you must send the Secretary-General the request to review the file for payment of master's degree fee.
When the Secretariat proceeds to validate it, you will receive a message in your personal email, with indications on how to formalize the request and subsequent procedures.
In case of an incident being detected, the Secretariat will notify you immediately by telephone or by email.
You must also bear in mind that, in order to be able to process the degree, you must be aware of all payment with the University. Otherwise, it will not be possible to proceed until the debt has been paid.
There will be no review of files that do not have the minimum number of credits required to obtain the corresponding degree.
At the same time as you process the degree, the procedure will begin for the issuing of the SET (European Qualification), which is a trilingual official academic certification (Catalan/Spanish/English) of your studies, accompanying your degree.
- By electronics UB (compulsory procedure for students who pay the ordinary degree rate or Numerous Family rate)
Once the Faculty Secretariat informs you of the approval of your file once it has been reviewed, students who are required to pay the ordinary degree fee and those who have to pay the Numerous Family Tax must process your application through the UB Electronic Headquarters or through your Personal Space.
This way of processing the title will allow you to complete the procedure and receive the corresponding safeguard electronically, without having to visit the Secretariat.
Students who have to pay special collective fees do not currently have this possibility open, which is still under development within the UB Electronic Administration project. You will have to process your title request via the face-to-face submission of documents.
- With in-person document delivery
I receive the message from the Secretariat, which informs you that your file fulfils the requirements to be able to request the title (with the appropriate route and with the mention, if applicable) of your studies, you will be able to formalize the application and payment of the fee linked to the processing.
Once you have completed the whole procedure, you will have to go through the Faculty Secretariat to collect the safeguard of the degree, which will be submitted to you once you have provided the relevant documentation in your case:
In cases that require it:
- Special collectives:
Original and copy of the supporting documentation of the right to some reduction in the price of the security.
- Students with an identification document other than the Spanish DNI:
Original and copy of document (passport, foreign identity card...)
At the same time as you process the degree, you will begin the procedure for issuing the SET (European Qualification), which is a trilingual official academic certification (Catalan/Spanish/English) of your studies, accompanying your degree.
The online application of the application will offer you two possible forms of payment for the fee of the degree processing.
Payment in cash (option "received"): this option allows you to print the receipt and payment to the banking entity, payment online with an account to the contributing entities or payment with card via La Caixa, via the virtual TPV.
Credit card: through the application itself.
Once you have completed the procedure, the Secretariat will give you the official title safeguard. This document will serve to accredit all the effects that you have passed the education and that you have the degree in the processing phase. Its legal validity is equivalent to that of the final official title. In addition, the SED will give you the sanctuary of the SET (European Title supplement) that accompanies the title.
In case of electronic processing, the security will arrive electronically in your Personal Space and will be a document with an electronic certificate signing for three years of legal validity.
In case of face-to-face processing, the safeguard will carry a manual signature and will be delivered to the Secretariat titles window. At express request, it may be sent by mail to the addressee.
Once the title reaches the SED, you will receive a notice letter at the address listed in its files. It is important that you update your data when a address change occurs. To do so, you can send an email to fil-titol@ub.edu, providing the new data, as well as your DNI/passaport/NIE number and your NIUB number.
The title must be collected personally, following identification accredited via DNI/passaport/NIE. It will be possible to authorise another person to carry out this collection procedure, only through a notarial power.
In case you have the residence established outside the province of Barcelona, the Secretariat may submit the title to the Provincial Education Directorate or the Consular Office closest to your place of residence. In order for this to be possible, you must submit a request email to the address fil-titol@ub.edu.
According to the rules of linguistic use of the University of Barcelona, the degree/licenciatura degree is issued in the bilingual Catalan/Spanish version. You can find information about the possibility of obtaining a free English translation by making the request to the College Secretariat, which will process it and submit it to you.
A duplicate of the title may be requested in the following situations:
