Information for the student

As part of the study plans for the degree courses, the Faculty of Philology and Communication offers students the possibility of doing external internships in companies and institutions with which an educational cooperation agreement has been established. These internships are of a curricular nature and, therefore, if they are successfully completed, they will have the corresponding recognition of credits on the student's file.

The academic recognition will be 6 optional credits and corresponds to a total of 180 real hours at the company or institution. The faculty has a teaching team that takes care of the academic issues related to the subject.

The internships will be monitored and evaluated by one of the internship tutors.

At the end of the student's stay, the institution's internship tutor will assess the degree of satisfaction with the internships carried out through a document prepared by the Internship Office of the Faculty of Philology and Communication. This report, together with the report that the student will make, will be used as a basis for the evaluation of the subject. The teacher acting as the student's academic tutor will be in charge of the assessment.

  • Be a student of the degree course to which the requested position is assigned and, if applicable, of the required course in the position description.
  • Having passed a minimum of 120 credits of the degree at the time of registration.
  • Have the Social Security Number (NUSS) or Affiliation Number. Access the UB external practice management application (GIPE) and enter the NUSS in the GIPE, in the "My CV" section.

The student must bear in mind that this registration process does not mean the necessary allocation of a place.

The Internship Office will carry out the allocation of places based on the following criteria:

  • Average grade of the student's academic record
  • Student prioritization in the selection of requested places
  • Offer of places available for teaching or the student's itinerary

Students must formally accept the position or waive it through the GIPE, once they have consulted the result of their assignment in the GIPE "My internships" section.

Students with an assigned place are asked to understand the commitment they will make when they formalize their acceptance or resignation, as this personal choice will have a corresponding impact on the programming and organization of internships at the institutions.

Students who have accepted the place assigned to do degree internships in a company or institution must enroll in the optional subject of "External Internships" in September, with the regular registration.
