The students of the subject (Post)photography and Communication of the Degree in Communication and Cultural Industries have been the first to participate in this initiative to empower young people in the audiovisual narrative

As part of the collaboration agreement recently initiated between the University of Barcelona and the technological multinational Xiaomi, last Friday November 24 the students of the subject (Post)photography and Communication of the degree in Communication and Cultural Industries participated in a workshop given by the prestigious photojournalist Guiseppe Nucci. This workshop, which is divided into two sessions, is part of the 'Story in Sight' initiative through which we want to provide young people with tools and knowledge in the world of visual storytelling.

The students of the subject taught by professor Jordi Hernández had the opportunity to participate in the first meeting with Nucci that will continue this Friday, December 1. The photojournalist shared his knowledge and background with the participants and suggested that they explore how visual narratives are generated through series of photographs. The first session, focused on the search for the narrative and creative voice in the first person, based on the work with referents from various sources, such as readings or cinema. In the next session, they will present and analyze with Nucci a series of photographs taken by themselves, which will allow them to work very closely with the photojournalist.

'Story in Sight' is an innovative series of photography workshops that aims to provide young people with tools and knowledge in the world of visual storytelling. To carry out this initiative, the multinational has reached an agreement with the University of Barcelona so that students from various faculties, including the Faculty of Philology and Communication, can participate in these workshops.

The University of Barcelona has become the first university institution to join this proposal to provide students with tools and skills to deepen their knowledge in the field of digital photography. The presentation of the project took place last September 25 in Berlin.
