The Faculty of Philology and Communication of the University of Barcelona is hosting a new edition of the Historiae Augustae Colloquia congress, from May 9th to 11th in the Sala Gabriel Oliver.
Professors of Latin Philology from the Faculty of Philology and Communication such as Marc Mayer, Víctor González, and Javier Velaza will participate. Renowned teachers from other universities will also attend, such as François Chausson, from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonn; Giuseppe Zecchini, from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart; and Isabel Moreno, from the University of Salamanca.
The Historiae Augustae Colloquia conference is part of a long tradition of conferences that began in 1962, and studies the most enigmatic literary works of Antiquity. The Colloquia, held for 25 years in Bonn and then in various locations, bring together in each edition international experts in Roman History and Latin Philology to discuss questions of the Historia Augusta, such as the authorship, dating or veracity of many of the information it contains.
