The Faculty of Philology and Communication of the University of Barcelona celebrated the graduation ceremony and awarding of diplomas to the XXIV class of students of the Barcelona-New York Master's in Journalism, a degree offered in collaboration with the School of Journalism at Columbia University in New York.

The graduation ceremony took place in the Ramón y Cajal Hall of the Historical Building and was presided over by the dean of the Faculty of Philology and Communication, Javier Velaza, who was accompanied by the vice-dean of Academic Programs of the School of Journalism from Columbia University, Elena Cabral, and the director of the Master's in Journalism BCN-NY, Frederic Vincent. Olga Viza, one of the best-known faces in Spanish journalism and a pioneer in sports broadcasting, has been the godmother of the XXIV master's class. The renowned journalist offered a lesson in which she emphasized the responsibility of journalism in today's world and the value of the truth in its exercise, as the last guarantee of a job well done. Viza has been forceful regarding the profession: "The best journalism is that which accredits the truth and does indisputable work". He has also reviewed his extensive career as a journalist with an emphasis on sports broadcasts, as well as his time in the news. He closed the speech by telling some anecdotes, remarked on the importance of being honest in the profession and wished the graduating students good luck in their professional careers.
