CLiC's SCRIBAL project, among the winners of the call for Disruptive Solutions of the Xarxa AccessCat

The Language and Computing Center (CLiC) of the Faculty of Philology and Communication will receive up to 20,000 euros to finance a digital transcriber project for teaching led by professor Mireia Farrús

The SCRIBAL project promoted by the Language and Computing Center (CLiC) of the Faculty of Philology and Communication has been one of the winners of the first call for Disruptive Solutions, organized by Xarxa AccessCat. Thanks to this recognition, the project will receive up to 20,000 euros in financing.

The SCRIBAL project, led by Mireia Farrús, a professor in the Department of Catalan Philology and General Linguistics, is a digital transcriber for teaching in classrooms intended for people who have hearing problems or do not know a language. The program works with several languages ​​such as Basque and Catalan and allows automatic translations to be carried out.

Xarxa AccessCat aims to promote the transfer of research results in accessibility to information and communication. The Disruptive Solutions call, which celebrated its first edition this year, aims to finance valorisation studies of innovative solutions on accessibility.
