#CICStudents | Fluxus Book, a call for peace
Published on 12 January, 2024
The students of the “Trends in contemporary arts” subject, taught by professor Assumpta Bassas, have collaboratively created an event scores book. The project, called Fluxus Book, is a call for peace; an expression of the collective desire to put an end to violence.
The project has been inspired by Yoko Ono’s pacifist activism and by Fluxus’ actions. This collective is well known for their varied artistic production. However, students’ have mainly taken their event scores as references. This format proposes several actions that the reader can conduct in the form of a drama script. The “micro” performances described in Fluxus Book incite a reflection on war from our immediate environment.
The book, which is available here, contains fifty-two event scores written by the students. They are resources to imagine peace in every situation, a first step to spread it and make it real.
