Linguistics

The Linguistics degree offers a tutoring service that is available to students throughout their studies. This service aims to guide them and help them solve the doubts that arise during their training.

• Helping students, at the beginning of their studies, to integrate into the university world.
• Stimulate their interest in the knowledge of human language in its different aspects.
• Detect and solve the problems they may encounter during their training.
• Attend to students with specific needs.
• Guide them, at the end of their studies, with a view to further studies and insertion in the world of work.

1st year: presentation session (early October)

Once classes have started, there is an initial session aimed at first-year Linguistics students. This session has the following objectives:

1. Welcome the students.
2. Inform them about the operation of the Department.
3. Guide and advise them on how to approach their studies.
4. To publicize the means of information and communication that the Department makes available.
5. Introduce both the management team and the person in charge of the tutorials.

1st year – 4th year: individual tutorials

From this initial session, students can contact the tutors whenever they want to receive advice or have to solve a problem related to their studies. They can be contacted by email or phone.

3rd year: information session

November
The tutors schedule a session to inform about the research projects of the General Linguistics section, the Erasmus and Sicue mobility programs. They are also informed about the call for collaboration grants with the departments.

4th year: Academic and work orientation session

April
Fourth-year students are invited to an information session about Masters, Graduate and PhD programs offered by the Department and other post-degree academic options.
