MISSION
The mission of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is to provide a public service in the teaching of medicine and health sciences, aimed at preventing diseases and promoting and improving the health of the population, training excellent, committed and ethical professionals who carry out quality assistance, and that, at the same time, allow them to adapt and respond to society’s demands.
VISION
To be a centre of excellence in the training of medical and health sciences professionals, creating synergies in the fields of teaching, research and healthcare assistance, in close collaboration with the various stakeholders and with society.
VALUES
• Leadership in teaching and research. The FM&HS promotes the excellence of its teaching staff and students to achieve the highest standards in their academic and research activity, which allows them to apply the results for the benefit of society and position themselves as a leader in their field.
• Continuous learning. The FM&HS instills the value of continuous learning for an optimal adaptation of health professionals to the changes and challenges of their environment.
• Professionalism. The FM&HS empowers its students, teachers and members of the Administration and Services Staff to always carry out their functions and obligations governed by the principles of integrity, careful attention, respect, and education.
• Complete education of students. The FM&HS wants to train excellent professionals, who are also good people, committed and ethical, who value the polite and friendly treatment of all people, and the learning of empathy and all the values of healthcare professionalism.
