Next 27th of April at 12h, Campus Clínic will host the first Seminar of the “Cicle Continuat de Conferències de la Facultad de Medicina i Ciències de la Salut”.
Under the title "Brain mechanisms in physiological and pathological cognitive processes" will be presented by Dr. Arnau Busquets, Ramón y Cajal researcher, working at the “Institut Hospital del Mar d'Investigacions Mèdiques”.
These talks are open to all researchers at the environment of Barcelona.
Resume:
Dr. Arnau Busquets is a young researcher recently awarded with the prestigious ERC grant. During the talk, he will give us an overview of the two main research projects that are ongoing in his lab. First, he will show unpublished and preliminary data regarding the involvement of cannabinoid receptors in the development of cognitive phenotypes and alterations associated with Alzheimer's disease. Second, he will highlight the preliminary findings regarding a project where they are studying the behavioural and neurobiological substrates that determine higher-order conditioning processes. In this project, his team is interested in discovering which brain circuits regulate these processes in the normal brain and in different pathologies. In this sense, Dr. Busquets will discuss the possibility to use higher-order conditioning paradigms as new behavioral tasks for studying positive psychotic effects in animal models.
We hope to see you there!
