Indicators and rankings

Today it’s quite common to compare the standing of universities based on sets of indicators to see how well they’re performing both academically and in terms of scientific output. In the case of faculties, comparisons of this kind are now starting to be made between universities in the same country or region, as well as at the international level. The resulting rankings provide a snapshot of a faculty’s academic performance and the effectiveness of the strategy that underpins its policy.

UNIVERSITY RANKINGS

The University of Barcelona is ranked 1st in Spain by most of the global university rankings. The position of our university in Europe changes according to the parameters used, although it is always ranked within the range that goes from 18th to 90th. As for its position in the world, our university fluctuates between 60th and 200th depending on the method of calculation.
