Information for the student – Industrial Relations
Hihglights
To learn about industrial relations and to work professionally in this field, it is important to understand legal aspects, including regulations on working conditions, the rights and obligations of employees and employers, the function of staff representatives, the action of the work administration, and the functioning and provisions of social services. However, an understanding of industrial relations in a company or public institution depends not only on regulations, but also on other factors such as company organization, human resources management, industrial and organizational psychology and sociology, and economic aspects regarding the use of the work factor in companies and public institutions.
Given these objectives, the bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations is an interdisciplinary qualification in which students must study relevant, essential aspects of labour relations, including law, economy, psychology, sociology, history and company organization.
Students of the bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations have the opportunity to specialize in two areas: legal advice on employment, and human resources management, to meet society's needs and demands for future graduates. The contents of the two specializations are designed to give students more specific knowledge to deepen their understanding of the compulsory subjects.
