Aquesta és una guia de consulta ràpida, adreçada especialment al PAS i PDI, amb recomanacions per redactar textos igualitaris, en català, que permetin una visibilització equitativa entre homes i dones en la documentació institucional de la Universitat de Barcelona. Cal inserir-la, doncs, en el marc del Pla d’igualtat, que preveu una sèrie d’actuacions per proposar models, criteris i bones pràctiques pel que fa a un ús no sexista del llenguatge.

També cal destacar que darrere d’aquesta guia hi ha els criteris elaborats i consensuats, per al català i el castellà, pel Grup de Qualitat de la Xarxa Vives. Es tracta, per tant, de recomanacions compartides per la majoria d’universitats catalanes.

Guidelines, which is the English-language section of the University of Barcelona’s Llibre d’estil, brings together and develops different documents, including those produced by the English Section of the Language Quality Work Group of the Vives Network of Universities, in which the University of Barcelona participates. To date, these are the Interuniversity Style Guide for Writing Institutional Texts in English (Manual d’estil interuniversitari per a la redacció de textos institucionals en anglès), the Interuniversity Style Guide for Writing End-of-Degree Projects in English and the Interuniversity Style Guide for Writing Course Guides in English, which were all completed with the support of an Interlingua grant from the Government of Catalonia.

The main objectives of the English-language section of the Llibre d’estil are to improve the quality of the institutional and academic English-language documents produced at our university. It is organized into different sections that address specific and general aspects of the institutional and academic language style and provide examples, including a section on gender-inclusive language
