Faculty

The UB Faculty of Education, as the continuation of the previous faculties of Teacher Training and Education, has been welcoming new students into its classrooms for more than 170 years (the original Normal School – l’Escola Normal – was created in 1845). Currently, nearly 1500 students come each year to what is the second-largest faculty at the University of Barcelona in terms of the total number of students and teachers.

The Faculty provides training in all fields related to the world of education: biology, social sciences, teaching, physical education, visual and plastic arts, physics, geology, educational research, mathematics, music, first-, second- and third-languages, chemistry, theory and history, and so on. Indeed, it is something of a mini-university, as it integrates almost all areas of knowledge in a single centre.
