The UB is listed among the top universities worldwide in 35 of the 54 scientific areas analyzed by the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022. As for the field of Education, the UB has climbed almost 4 points in the ranking compared to the 2021 edition. According to the results of this year's, the UB is the state leader in ten disciplines and, in the field of Education, has a shared leadership with other state institutions.

The Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects lists the universities in 54 disciplines, grouped into five areas: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences. The measuring indicators are research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality, and international academic awards.
