Mineral Resources and Geological Hazards
Introduction
The master's degree Mineral Resources and Geological Hazards is an interuniversity degree coordinated by the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona and offers two possible specializations:
- Geology and Ore Deposits Modelling
- Geological Hazards
The specialization Geology and Ore Deposits Modelling is intended to provide professionals with in-depth knowledge of the magmatic, hydrothermal, metamorphic and sedimentary processes that produce diverse types of mineral deposits, and prepare them to apply this knowledge in exploration. Students will also acquire skills in the most modern quantitative methods used in the characterization and evaluation of mineral resources.
The specialization Geological Hazards seeks to equip students with knowledge of the techniques used in cartography, analysis, modelling and evaluation of any danger or hazard posed by potentially destructive geological phenomena and processes. Students will also acquire skills in the methods and techniques currently employed in strategies aimed at mitigating geological hazards.
