Objectives and competences
Objectives
- Become professionals with a basic, while solid, and broad understanding of geology and its fields of application.
- Acquire training in the use of the most appropriate tools to solve problems that arise and to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Be able to know how to use all the sources of information available for geological work and to present the results in a rigorous and understandable manner to all kinds of audiences.
- Acquire the capabilities that allow them to join a wide range of jobs in private and public companies, geological services of the different administrations, research and teaching centres, museums, etc.
- Know how to adapt efficiently to a constantly evolving work environment.
- Prepare for a future specialization, either in work centres or through the master's offered by universities.

Basic competences
- Capacity to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in a field of study that builds upon general secondary education, and is typically at a level that, whilst supported by advanced textbooks, includes some aspects that will necessarily be informed by knowledge at the cutting edge of the field of study.
