Molecular Microbiology and antibacterils

The laboratory of Molecular Microbiology & Antimicrobials is devoted to the research on new Cationic antimicrobial peptides and their antimicrobial mechanisms of action. On the other hand the group research deals with the structure and physiology of bacterial membranes and performs search of new chemicals which facilitates antibiotic entry into bacterial with low permeabilities.

The team is formed by approximately 20 people and the research performed in cooperation with the laboratory of Fernando Albericio in Kwala-Zulu University (South Africa) and Rodolfo Lavilla of the Pharmaceutical School.
