Clinical and Surgical Anatomy

• The Barcelona School of Orthopedic Surgical Anatomy was born under the leadership of Prof. Pau Golanó,

world-wide recognized anatomist that did outstanding contributions to the field of Applied Anatomy.

• Currently, the Barcelona School of Orthopedic Surgical Anatomy continues its activity with

Dr. Miki Dalmau-Pastor, one of Golanó’s disciples, among other collaborators as Dr. Jordi Vega, Dr. Francesc Malagelada and Prof. Dr. Maria-Cristina Manzanares.

• The scope of our School is to provide the most advanced anatomical descriptions oriented towards orthopedic surgical procedures, that ultimately allow surgeons to perform more advanced techniques and treat patients better.

• The main focus of our research is in Ankle Arthroscopy and Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery. For this reason, Dr. Dalmau-Pastor, Dr. Vega and Dr. Malagelada are serving as Board Members of GRECMIP soon MIFAS Groupe de Recherche et d’Etude en Chirurgie Mini-Invasive du Pied - Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Society, https://www.grecmip.org/), an International Society dedicated to the study and research of minimally invasive techniques.
