The area of History of Law offers the possibility to write a doctoral thesis about the specific research fields of the discipline and within the framework of the Doctoral Program in Law and Politic Science of the University of Barcelona.
Candidates must have passed at least 300 credits ECTS (of which at least 60 must belong to an official master’s degree or equivalent degree) at a Spanish or foreign university and get in contact with some teacher in the respective area so that he or she can direct the doctoral thesis of the agreed subject.
The title of Doctor in Law obtained after de public defense of the doctoral thesis, constitutes the maximum academical degree in Spain, and it certificates the acquisition of the competencies and abilities related to a quality scientific research.
