Unit of Ecology
Ecology occupies an increasingly important space both in the scientific and socioeconomic sphere, taking into account the great challenges that arise regarding the sustainable management of natural resources and the conservation and protection of natural systems.
The research and teaching of members of the Ecology Unit can be framed in forest ecology, limnology and marine ecology. In addition to deepening the knowledge of aquatic and terrestrial systems, the Unit centers its activity on the ecology of populations and communities, on evolutionary ecology and on the effects of global change in the ecosystem.
It is also a vocation for this Unit to disseminate the knowledge generated in the University and apply it in specific fields. We want to contribute to the increase in the scientific knowledge of nature through basic and applied research, with a clear social projection.
