Doctorate programs
Teaching and research staff of the Department participate in three doctoral programs, two of them coordinated by the Department, Biodiversity and Ecology, Environmental Sciences and Plant Physiology; the other program is Marine Sciences.
The PhD in Biodiversity is a joint doctorate program between the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, which also includes researchers from other institutions and research entities. It is designed to train PhD students in scientific research and train them to be incorporated into the most prestigious Biodiversity research and management institutions.
The coordination is carried out from the Department. Most of the teaching and research staff of the Department directs and / or supervises doctoral theses attached to this program.
The PhD in Ecology, Environmental Sciences and Plant Physiology wants to train specialists in the study of the ecology of populations, communities and ecosystems through advanced and integrated training, deepening the scientific, methodological and technical knowledge that is needed.
The Department mainly offers research lines of the Sections of Ecology and Plant Physiology.
It is an interuniversity doctoral program involving the University of Barcelona and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, as well as the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). It aims to train professionals and highly qualified researchers in the different fields of Sciences of the Sea.
Members of the Department are part of the academic committee of the program and the lines of research offered.
