Immunoregulació de la resposta innata i adaptativa. IP: Francisco Lozano Soto
El grup està liderat pel Dr. Francisco Lozano (Consultor Sènior, Servei d'Immunologia de l'Hospital Clínic de Barcelona i Professor Titular d'Immunologia de la Facultat de Medicina de la Universitat de Barcelona). El grup es va crear el 1995 després de la formació post-doctoral del Dr. Lozano al Laboratori de Biologia Molecular (Cambridge, Regne Unit), on va treballar sota la supervisió del Prof. César Milstein (Premi Nobel de Medicina i Fisiologia) sobre models transgènics per a l'estudi de la hipermutació somàtica i el control transcripcional dels gens d'immunoglobulina. Un cop establerts, el grup inicialment va estudiar principalment l'activació dels limfòcits, i posteriorment els va estendre a la fisiologia dels membres limfoides i no limfoides de la superfamilia SRCR dels receptors immunològics, així com al camp de la immunogenètica de l’autoimmunitat, la infecció i càncer El grup ha estat reconegut com a Grup de Recerca Consolidat per part de la Generalitat i el seu treball ha merescut el suport continuat de les agències nacionals i nacionals públiques i privades, a més de generar 17 tesis doctorals, 4 patents, 1 spin-off i ~150 publicacions (original i ressenyes) en revistes nacionals i internacionals revisades per experts.
