Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
The unit of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology do teaching in the degrees of Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing-Clinic and Biomedical Sciences. The subjects of Basic Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry of Systems at the Degree of Medicine, Chemistry and Biochemistry at the degree of Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry at the Nursing-Clinical Degree and Cell Biology of Pathology an Clinical and Analytical Biochemistry at the Biomedical Sciences degree. The unit also participates in University of Barcelona coordinated and interuniversity master's degrees (Neurosciences, Translational Medicine, Advanced Immunology ...).
Regarding research the unit has different groups with interests in the fields of neuroscience (Neurochemistry, Neuroinflammation, Molecular mechanisms in neurological/neurodegenerative diseases and identification of novel therapeutic targets), Immunology and Hepatic Pathology (Translational Research in New Strategies for Diagnosis and Treatment of Hepatic Disease).
