Information for the student – Analytical Chemistry
Support and guidance
Tutorial Action Plan
The fundamental objectives of the Tutorial Action Plan are to inform, guide and support in a personalized way the students of the Master in Analytical Chemistry from the beginning to the end of their studies. The actions included in the Plan are the following:
1. Programming of an informative session for the presentation of the master's degree by the coordinator and reception of students in the Department of Analytical Chemistry by the Director of the Department.
2.- Assignment of tutor and director of the master's final project.
- Given the importance of the experimental work in the Master in Analytical Chemistry, each student is assigned a final master's project (TFM) directed by one or more expert researchers in the corresponding work area, from the beginning of the studies, which implies the incorporation of the student to a research group.
- If the director of the TFM is a professor from the Department of Analytical Chemistry, he will act as a tutor throughout the course.
- Students who develop their TFM in centers with a long tradition of collaboration with the Department, such as the CSIC, have the coordinator of the Master as a tutor.
- Students who develop their TFM in companies or external laboratories will be assigned a professor from the Department as a tutor.
3- Definition of the tasks of the tutor and the director of the TFM
- The tutor will guide the student in the selection of the most suitable elective subjects to develop the experimental work with guarantees, will ensure that the studies, both experimental and theoretical, are developed properly and will help him to solve any doubt, problem or incident that may have throughout the master.
- The director of the TFM will plan the experimental work with the student, will guide and supervise them in the search for information, in the development of the experimental work, in the analysis of the results obtained, the obtaining of adequate conclusions and in the writing and presentation of the memory and defense of the TFM.
4- Additionally and complementing the work of the tutor, the coordinator of the master will assume the task of providing the student with all the necessary information regarding the teaching, the Department, the Faculty and the services available, as well as answering their questions, concerns and needs, and guide you in all matters that affect you as a master's student.
