Information for the student – Advanced Immunology

Practices and Master's Thesis (TFM) 2024-2025

Receiving groups

AREAS

It is understood that the Master's Final Project (TFM) in Immunology must give great importance to the training of the student in the field of learning laboratory techniques, to know how to apply experimental design, to know how to use and benefit from the results. This involves establishing a working hypothesis capable of designing an experiment and, finally, how to interpret the results and present them correctly in order to explain and discuss them with the scientific community. In any of the profiles, students will develop a specific project throughout the academic year that will consist of 24 ECTS. The work will be closely supervised by the tutor who will control the development of the work. Before starting, the work must specify the main objective and the development of the experiments to be carried out by the student. The experimental phase of the work must be complemented with a time of literature review according to the tutor's criteria. In the final phase, the student will write the work in the usual format of 1) the introduction, 2) objectives, 3) the materials and methods, 4) results, 5) discussion, 6) conclusions, 7) bibliography, following the regulations of the Master's Committee. The work is presented and defended, orally, before a committee, whose members are selected by the Master's Committee. The general provisions applicable tothe Master's Thesis can be found at  http://www.giga.ub.edu/acad/gdoc/fitxers/pdf/normes_TFM.pdf
