Research and innovation
The research environment at the Faculty of Biology covers areas as important as biomedicine, biodiversity and evolution, conservation and management of natural heritage, animal and plant physiology, microbiology, genetics and new emerging technologies applied to life. All the research shares the common goal of preserving life on a sustainable planet. The research potential is key to the generation of knowledge and the interdisciplinarity of research while also benefiting the academic training of students.
Many of the Faculty’s lecturers and researchers are members and participants of other research structures, such as research institutes, European programmes or research centres, research, development and innovation networks, and the international arena.
