Official assessment of learning outcomes
Continuous assessment
To opt for continuous assessment, students must attend class regularly and participate actively in the debates. Assessment is based on the following activities:
- A housing policy study (50%) and its presentation (10%).
- A theoretical essay (e.g. a review of an article) (20%).
- A methodological study related to a specific aspect of the course (20%).
To opt for single assessment, students must submit an individual case study (worth 100% of the final grade) applying the main concepts introduced on the course. Students wishing to opt for this mode of assessment must submit a written request no later than one week after matriculating on the course.
Repeat assessment
UB regulations governing course plans and the assessment and grading of learning provide that students who fail to satisfy the examiners (including those that fail to submit the requisite coursework) by the date for the completion of either the continuous or single modes of assessment may opt for repeat assessment. Repeat assessment adheres to the same requisites as those provided for under the single mode of assessment and represents 100% of the final grade.
Course dates and the dates for repeat assessment are published in the Faculty’s website.
