Cookies policy

What are cookies?

A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain web pages. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their computer and, depending on the information they contain and the way you use your computer, they can be used to recognise the user.

The user’s browser stores cookies on the hard disk only during the current session, they take up minimal memory space and do not harm the computer. The cookies do not contain any specific personal information, and most of them are deleted from the hard disk at the end of the browser session (the so-called session cookies).

Most browsers accept cookies as standard and, independently of these cookies, in the security configuration they allow or prevent temporary or stored cookies.

Depending on the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types of cookies can be distinguished: own cookies and third-party cookies. There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain embedded in the client’s browser, and in this case they can be session cookies or persistent cookies. Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalisation cookies, analysis cookies, advertising cookies and behavioural advertising cookies.
