Description
In recent years, the use of dishwashers has increased considerably in our homes. Although it is a very efficient appliance that reduces domestic work, it must be used correctly so that its consumption of both water and electricity is as low as possible.
What can I do?
- It is preferable to use the dishwasher at full load instead of washing dishes by hand with hot water.
- Only run the dishwasher when it is completely full.
- If you have a half-empty dishwasher, use the “half load” function.
- It is important to avoid the programmes of the dishwasher that use a high temperature and that are very long. You usually use an ecological and economical programme, as these are of short duration and low temperature.
- If it is necessary to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, use cold water.
- If you have to replace your dishwasher for a new appliance, choose the most efficient one, according to the indications you will find on the energy efficiency label.
