The shopping list

Description

Going to buy the food we will eat in the next few days seems like an easy task, but if we don’t do it right, we may end up throwing away a lot of spoiled products in the trash, and therefore we will be wasting food.

Inadequate management of food products has direct effects on the environment, unnecessarily increasing the consumption of resources, such as energy and water, both for food production and transport, and for the subsequent treatment of the waste we have generated.

What can I do?

  • Table with food wasteBuy only the foods you need, and the right amount. It is very important to properly plan what we will consume.
  • Check your pantry periodically to prevent products from spoiling.
  • Consume those products that expire first. In the fridge, put those that expire early, and in the background those that do later.
  • When a product sets a preferred expiration date it does not mean that it can no longer be consumed when the expiration date has passed. You can consume it without risk, however
he may have lost some of his qualities.
  • Consume local and seasonal produce. This will significantly reduce energy and water costs.
  • Store products in the right place to prevent damage.
  • Cook only the amount of food that is needed. In case of leftover food, reuse it to complement other dishes
