Currently, there are several options for renting the car, but depending on which one is used, water consumption can vary between 40 and 500 litres. These figures are so different that they show how important it is to choose the right place and type of washing to use.
What can I do?
Washing the car with a hose is the worst option, as it has the highest water consumption (up to 500 litres per wash).- If you want to wash your car yourself, use a bucket and a sponge, but remember that you cannot wash your car on public roads.
- Mechanical washing systems are more efficient. Car washes consume between 75 and 300 litres per vehicle, depending on whether the installation has a water recycling system or not. In the case of pressure washer systems, the consumption is only about 40 litres. The washing centres that use the “ecological” designation are a good option for saving water and avoiding the use of polluting cleaning products.
