INTRODUCTION OF THE GROUP
NURSEARCH is a research group on mental health, psychosocial and complex nursing care.
NURSEARCH was officially born in 2023 with the aim of transferring the knowledge obtained from the identification of the health needs of citizens (both in the psychosocial and mental health area, as well as the care in complex situations) to the design, implementation and evaluation of nursing programmes aimed at the promotion, prevention and treatment of the health problems of citizens.
We are a Research Group
recognised by the Generalitat de Catalunya (2021 SGR 1083) and our main area of knowledge is nursing.
Our research is aimed at improving the health care of individuals, families
and communities, at the level of primary care, hospitalisation, specialised
care and socio-health centres, among others.
What do we propose?
The main challenges for the coming years are focused on:
- Consolidating the research we are carrying out as a group.
- Consolidate the transfer of the knowledge obtained, both from the clinical and social aspects.

Our headquarters
is located in Catalonia (Spain), specifically in
l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, a municipality of Barcelona.
We are located on the third floor of the
Government Pavilion Building of the Faculty of
Nursing of the Bellvitge Campus of the University of Barcelona.

Lines of research
NURSEARCH's central research is carried out at the following levels:
MOREOVER, AND TRANSVERSALLY,
the group works
in a line of construction and validation of instruments for the measurement of health needs and results within the framework of nursing care. The definition of these lines of research corresponds precisely with the coherence of the work of this group of researchers: lines that are totally connected to each other.
TARGETS
For the next three years,
the group aims to consolidate and increase the quality nursing research that is currently taking place and, in addition, to strengthen the international relationships that already exist and build new ones. Then, the big challenge will be to consolidate the transfer of knowledge to citizens.
Given the health circumstances that the world population is going through recently, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the needs of the population to improve care in general and especially in mental health have become more than evident, as well as the importance of the nurse in attending to the public’s health responses.
In this sense, NURSEARCH is aligned with the 2030 agenda and the policies of the Department of Health of Catalonia and sustainable development, and aims to promote measures to prevent and intensify disabilities, reducing the impact on the person’s health, the their quality of life and their integration into society’s activities.
