Pre-Doc position in cell biology and translational cancer research
Applications are sought for a PhD Student wishing to pursue a career working on tumour biology to join the Cancer Heterogeneity Lab (led by Dr. Maria dM Vivanco) at CIC bioGUNE, Bilbao, Spain.
We are offering a PhD student position to work on an international ground-breaking project that brings together chemists, biologists, and medical doctors from Ireland, France, Portugal and Spain to fight breast cancer.
The BOTS project “Blue Organoids for Treatment Selection” aims to select treatments for patients based on the drug response of tumours grown as organoids. This programme was selected by the European Commission for the Atlantic Area Interreg programme.
We are seeking highly motivated pre-doctoral candidates to analyse the fundamental properties linked to cellular identity and cross-talk with the microenvironment that confer resistance to therapy in breast cancer. The successful applicant will take advantage of scientific interactions within the European consortium and use a multidisciplinary approach involving omics analysis, 3D cell models, co-culture systems and human samples with the final aim of improving therapies for personalised medicine while reducing the risk of developing resistance to therapies in breast cancer.
