Bio

Musician, teacher, translator, and/or passive-reflective Galician-Catalan activist of Andalusian origin. PhD in Cultural Anthropology, Master in Urban Anthropology, Bachelor in Social Anthropology, and a graduate in English Philology. My research lines are related to ethnography, socioacoustics, and the cultures of listening, historical memory, sound identity, and the acculturation processes linked to mass culture.

Subject

I teach part of the course on Social and Political Implications of Sound Art, to which I have added the epithet “cultural.” In this course, I review the contributions of different academic schools and thinkers who have been interested and tried to study the relationship between sound and behavior, as well as the techniques and methodological tools they have used for this purpose, aiming to present a holistic approach to sound that encompasses both experimental sciences and social and humanistic sciences.
