Ramon Llull devoted his literary production to explaining and dissemi-nating the Art, the apologetic philosophical-theological system. From this instrumental perspective of literature, Llull adapts the discourse to the audience he directs linguistically and stylistically. Proof of that is the dedication to the "polite son" of certain works, a literary resource that connects with the didactic literature and is used to address a secular audience, lacking of specific knowledge. In this sense, a question that should be asked concerns women as the addressee of Llull's works. While the female figure's appearance in the literature of Llull has been widely analyzed, women as recipients of the work itself have not been taken into account sufficiently. It is significant that Natana, the great female protagonist of Blaquerna, was a girl educated in the Art, like wise women who have the leading role in the examples of the Llibre de Santa Maria. In this paper, the aspects that make us think of women as recipients and transmitting persons of the Art will be analysed.
