Researchers to the limit

 
Despite the absurd tuition fees and the shameful salaries of a good part of the teaching staff, the resources available to the different research groups of public universities are at a minimum. The University of Barcelona (UB), the Polytechnic University (UPC) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) have denounced the lack of funding that adds to the cuts they have already suffered. The requirement of the requirements to present themselves to projects, the increase of the competence and the academic bureaucratization are added problems that prevent the research groups to adequately attend their investigations.
 
 
As a result, it is increasingly difficult to maintain a good position in international rankings. This problem also affects the recruitment of talent by research groups that, lacking funding, do not have the capacity to attract more prepared young people and give them an opportunity.
