R + D Project. GREPPS
Jordi Garcia, Raquel Cercós and Conrad Vilanou, members of the GREPPS (Grup de Recerca en Pedagògic i Social), participate in the R & D project “Analysis of audiovisual representations of education in documentaries and news programs during the Franco regime” led by Eulàlia Colldemont from the University of Vic. The budget of the project amounts to 39,205 euro and will have a periodicity of three years. This research aims to deepen the understanding of audiovisual representations produced between 1940 and 1970 with the aim of clarifying what pedagogical and propaganda model was disseminated through the media.
Taking into account the need to recover the historical memory from a qualitative perspective, the project is based on the premise that all educational propaganda (which can be found in various formats such as advertisements on television or magazine drawings) is part of the story cultural education The program will be developed from the formation of different working groups (some with researchers who belong to other countries with a totalitarian past), the audiovisual contents will be analyzed and, finally, they will be categorized to facilitate a greater understanding of the work carried out.
So, the objectives are:
1- Recover the audiovisual heritage of educational themes to promote its dissemination and study.
2 – Deepen the relationships established between propaganda, ideologies and education in the European context.
3- Analyze and interpret the audiovisual heritage produced during the Franco regime through qualitative analysis of the representations based on the following axes: propaganda, ideology and education; political conception of education; conception of educational subjects; and representation of curricular knowledge.
4- Promote knowledge of audiovisual heritage and its analysis and interpretation in the national and European environment.
