PRESENTATION
In the current academic context, the ability to carry out effective literature reviews is fundamental for doctoral students. This course is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of the different review methodologies, including bibliographic reviews, systematic reviews, systematized reviews, and scooping reviews. In addition, a module on descriptive bibliometry will be included to equip students with tools to analyze and evaluate scientific production. Through this course, students will acquire critical skills to address their research and contextualize their work within the current academic landscape.
OBJECTIVES
- Introduce fundamental concepts about revisions of literature as a method of research.
- Understand the differences between the different types of revisions and their application to different disciplines.
- Know, through a case study, the main steps in carrying out a search associated with a review, making the necessary nuances for each typology.
- Introduce the use of useful tools, software and resources for the realization of literature revisions
- Apply descriptive bibliometrics: Introduce students to bibliometric analysis techniques to assess scientific production and its impact on the field of study.
- Foster critical thinking: Encourage students to analyse and criticise existing literature, identifying knowledge gaps and opportunities for future research.

SPEAKER
Ángel M. Delgado V)zquez (ORCID: 0000-0003-2461-8553)
Graduate in Humanities from the Pablo de Olavide University and in Documentation from the Open University of Catalonia. He has a Master in Libraries and Digital Information Services from the Carlos III University. She works as Head of Learning and Research Support Services at the Pablo de Olavide University Library/CRAI. For more than 15 years she has been designing and implementing training plans related to digital competence and scientific communication for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, as well as for professors and researchers. It also provides support and advice for scientific evaluation and publication, both to researchers and publishers of academic publications. Provide advice on scientific evaluation tasks to evaluators and decision-making bodies. He is an associate professor in the Librarianship and Documentation Area at the Pablo de Olavide University, in Seville, where he is also Coordinator of the Official Master’s Degree in Digital History and Humanities and teaches topics related to scientific evaluation and communication. He also leads the University Expert Degree in Research Support Services: information, data, evaluation and scientific publication. He is a member of the ANECA State Accreditation System Assessment and Monitoring Committee.
