Functional areas

  • Research promotion: Strategic scope to strengthen research funding and the obtaining of economic and personal resources. It encourages strategic projects that respond to current scientific policies in the generation of knowledge and to the challenges of the global agenda expressed in the SDG objectives by promoting interdisciplinarity as fundamental axes of research at the Institute, not forgetting support for the internationalisation of research and networking.
  • Visibility and dissemination of research:  Strategic scope to consolidate and project the image of IRE and to make its members visible, the value of the educational research they carry out and the transfer of knowledge and results from their research activity.  To contribute to their communication through various channels, to the dissemination of knowledge appropriately to the various agents and citizens, and with the collaboration of other UB units.
  • Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI): Strategic scope for transversely introducing ethical values, principles and requirements into research and innovation consistent with the RRI agenda to promote social responsibility at the University and the relationship between research and society.  Actions to identify priorities, opportunities and needs to boost this focus on research, support the development of RRI agenda activities and projects.
  • Research training: Strategic scope to contribute to the development of quality research that must respond to scientific, disciplinary and social challenges in the context of current science and technologies. Research training actions by the members of the Institute, especially strengthening the momentum of open science. Internal training initiatives, and offering external services.
