The Barcelona City Council organizes, for the second year running, the Barcelona Open Data Challenge, a competition whose objective is to promote the use of the Open Data BCN portal among 3rd and 4th year students of ESO and Formative Cycles and to promote the Their ability to deal with data, stimulate teamwork and promote their critical and citizen spirit insofar as they analyze their environment and can propose improvement actions.
The Open Data BCN portal was made available to citizens in 2011 and currently contains more than 400 sets of data on various aspects of the city: demography, air quality, mobility, complaints from neighbors Neighbors, accidents or housing, among others.
The winners of the competition will be able to visit research, processing, research and data analysis centers and know companies in the technology and innovation sector.
