First Ibero-American meeting of Education Institutes
On 4 November 2021, the first meeting of heads of educational research institutes, both Spanish and Ibero-American, took place at the University of Salamanca, during the II International Congress of Research in Education (IRED’21). The main objective of this first contact was a launching session with the aim of establishing the basis to constitute a new Ibero-American network of educational research institutes.
It was attended by:
– Dr Jesús Salinas, director of the Network of Research Institutes in Education (RIIE) and promoter of the new network.
– Dr Zoia Bozu, Director of the Institute for Research in Education (IRE) at the University of Barcelona.
– Dr Antonio Bartolomé, from the University of Barcelona, followed the meeting by videoconference.
– Dr Eva Aguilar Mediavilla, Director of the Institute for Research and Innovation in Education (IRIE) of the University of the Balearic Islands.
– Dr Susana Olmos Migueláñez, Director of the University Institute of Education Sciences (IUCE) of the University of Salamanca.
– Dr. Ana María Porto Castro, Director of the Instituto de Ciencias da Educación (ICE) of the University of Santiago de Compostela, followed the meeting by videoconference.
– Dr Marisol Fernández Cueli, Director of the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation (INIE) of the University of Oviedo.
– Dr Moisés Esteban Guitart, Director of the Institute for Educational Research (IRE) of the University of Girona.
– Juan Bautista, representative of the Inter-University Institute for Educational Research (IESED) of Chile.
– Dr Alfonso Jiménez, representative of the Institute for Educational Research and Development (IIDE) of the Autonomous University of Baja California – Mexico.
– Maria Teresa Lugo, Director of the Centre for Public Policy in Education, Communication and Technologies of the University of Quilmes – Argentina, accompanied by Ana Elbert.
– Gladys Blazich, representative of the Institute for Research in Education (IIE) of the Faculty of Humanities of the Universidad Nordeste – Argentina.
– Carmen Caraballo, Director of the Instituto Dominicano de Evaluación e Investigación de la Calidad Educativa (IDEICE), attached to the Ministry of Education – Dominican Republic, accompanied by Ginia Montes de Oca.
– Mariela Meljin, deputy director and Lorena Cruz, secretary of the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE) of the University of Cuyo – Argentina.
– Lisel Sanchez
The American institutes followed the meeting by videoconference. Once presented, it was proposed a future meeting to present the different institutes that will be part of it, their lines of research, etc. with the intention of continuing with this Iberoamerican network of educational research institutes.
