Start of the future Quantum Internet research program in Catalonia with Next Generation funds
The Quantum Communications research program coordinated by ICFO, with the participation of IFAE, ICN2, UB, UPC and UAB, aims to develop technologies for the future Quantum Internet.
The initiative aims to carry out research on quantum technologies with the ultimate goal of being applied in the future European Quantum Internet. The project comes from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism of the European Union, through the Ministry of Science and Innovation and contributed by the Generalitat of Catalonia through the Department of Research and Universities.
In frame of the project, the University of Barcelona is represented by the projects led by the experts Prof. Guillem Aromí , professor of the Department of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Director of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IN2UB) and Prof. Bruno Juliá, professor of the Department of Quantum Physics and Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics and member of the Institute of Cosmos Sciences (ICCUB)
