The photocatalytic production of hydrogen from biomass-derived alcohols is considered a highly desirable source for renewable hydrogen production. Research for efficient photocatalytic systems is a hot topic under continuous progress. In this work, developed by Catalysis and Advanced Inorganic Materials Group, the new inorganic-organic periodic mesoporous organosilicas with dispersed Ti centers in the PMO framework, Ti-PMOs, have been successfully synthetized by a microwave-assisted method and used as hybrid photocatalysts for the renewable H₂ production from an aqueous ethanol solution.
