DATIFICATION: Transmutations / Art-Body-Data
17, 18 and 25 de February. CCCB / HANGAR
The DATIFICATION: Transmutations / Art-Body-Data conferences, organized by the research team of the IN>TRA* Project, address the question: Where does the frantic production of data that we generate daily in digital environments and the Internet come from? Datification is a phenomenon of abstraction from subjective bodily dimensions and physical reality, of translation into a mathematical language and of migration and insertion into a new living environment. This phenomenon is transforming a large part of contemporary artistic practices and, with it, the processes of art. The aim of the seminar is to help find new forms and research prototypes, as well as to visualize the phenomenon of dating.
