“Future Foodscapes” exhibition in the lobby of the UB Historic Building
04/24 The presentation event will feature the intervention of the vice-rector for research, Jordi Garcia, and the coordinator of the MUSAE project, Marita Canina. In addition, the twelve artists will present their projects and a debate will take place about their creative processes. To attend, you must register in advance at this link. The exhibition will continue throughout the day on Wednesday, April 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the different creations on display.
The artists who have participated in this initiative are: Chloé Rutzerveld, Lisa Mandemaker, Eleonora Ortolani, Sanja Sikoparija, Nonhuman Nonsense, Baum & Leahy, Peter Andersen, Genomic Gastronomy, Frederik De Wilde, Maciej Chmara, Katarina Andjelkovic and Irena Djukanovic.
The works have been created in the MUSAE project, funded by the Horizon Europe research program through the science, technology and arts (S+T+ARTS) platform. This project promotes social, ecological and economic changes within the European framework, and is developed by a network of universities, research centers and companies.
On behalf of the UB, researchers from the faculties of Mathematics and Computer Science and Fine Arts participate, who are the organizers of this exhibition. The objective of MUSAE is to create a new collaboration model based on innovation through art and design, with technology companies, to improve the sustainability of the food value chain in different areas.
In this project, an initial call was made to artists to create some food item that would be sustainable in the future, in a ten-year scenario. From the projects presented, a selection was made of the twelve artists exhibited at the UB. In the second phase of the project, the aim is to find companies that want to develop some of the proposals presented in this exhibition.
