ABOUT US
It is a research group created in 1997, at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona. It was founded by Dr. Rafael Bisquerra Alzina, who led the group in its first stage. In 2008 it was Dr. Nuria Pérez-Escoda who continued the coordination and, at present, the group is interuniversity and is led by Dr. Èlia López-Cassà at the University of Barcelona, while at the University of Lleida, the group is led by Dr. Gemma Filella Guiu since 2001.
Among our most outstanding achievements are numerous and diverse research projects and publications related to the application and evaluation of emotional education programs, validation of emotional competence assessment instruments, design of educational programs for prevention and personal and social development, and decision-making, among others. Likewise, the creation of the Postgraduate and Master’s Degrees in Emotional Education and Wellbeing, the Postgraduate Degree in Emotional Intelligence in Organisations, and the Emotional Education Conferences.

We understand emotional education as an educational process that aims to develop emotional competences to improve personal and social well-being (Bisquerra, 2000). Research in this line includes:
We understand educational orientation as a process of help and continuous accompaniment for all students, teachers, and families, in all aspects of development (personal, academic, professional, social…), throughout their lives.
Within this conceptual framework, our research is concerned with four main areas:
As well as the study of the variables that intervene in personal and educational success; and, especially, in the development and improvement of orientation and tutorial action.
